You've got a new gardener on your gift list this year? Or maybe a veteran gardener who loves useful gadgets. Of course, maybe YOU'RE the gardener on your gift list this year!
No matter, there's something on this list for everyone. I've curated this list from things I use the most around my farm and gardens or that I recommend to my listeners and clients. Many of these have Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals or are on sale for the holiday season, in general. I'll try to keep it as up to date as possible as we move toward the end of the year.

Gifts for Gardeners
When a gardener is just starting out tools are a necessity, but they may not want to invest in a lot right away. Here are some great gifts for a new gardener that will surely be appreciated.
Canvas Garden Tote with Tools
This sturdy canvas bag comes with a basic set of stainless steel, wooden handled tools perfect for a new gardener. You don't know what you need until you need it, and this set will have them covered for most garden tasks. It includes a spacious bag with lots of outside pockets for the tools and an inside space for more tools, supplies, or even carrying some of the harvest back to the house. The tools include a hand weeder, trowel, cultivator, hand fork, pruners and more.
This one comes in multiple color options, if green and floral isn't your gardener's thing: 9-Piece Heavy Duty Gardening Hand Tools with Organizer
Hori Hori Tool
This one is an entry-level version of the one I use myself (see below). Hori Hori translates to "dig dig" and it's a fantastic all-purpose tool to have in the garden. Having a bag of tools for dedicated jobs is fine when you grab the bag and head out to work. But, it's helpful to have one tool you can keep with you at all times that can perform multiple functions in a pinch. This one has an ergonomic handle, a very affordable price point, and comes in two colors: Hori Hori Garden Knife, 7" Stainless Steel Blade, Ergonomic TRP Handle
Heavy Duty Hori Hori
The Hori Hori I have is this one, a heavy-duty, full tang, stainless steel version with a beechwood handle and leather sheath. I carry it with me everywhere in the garden for digging, weeding, pruning, cutting, measuring, you name it. This one is produced by a US-based, veteran owned company and comes with a 5-year guarantee. Collapsible Harvest Bucket
Of course, every gardener needs something to carry in the harvest! I didn't know I needed this next item until my mom sent me one and I don't know how I lived without it before.
This collapsible bucket is perfect to take into the garden for small harvests. I can rinse the veggies in the bucket before even bringing them in the house, allowing them to soak and then using the built-in drain to dump the water. It's super easy to clean, has sturdy handles, and it collapses to store out of the way with my garden tools until I need it again. Mine sits right in the entryway to the house so I can grab it as I walk to the kitchen garden to harvest for meals! This one comes in multiple colors and has plenty of other uses outside the garden, too: 2-Gallon Foldable Washing Basin
Foldable Potting Mat
Another one I didn't think I needed until I saw my mom had one was this potting mat! I have a full-blown greenhouse with multiple potting benches and didn't think it was necessary to have a way to pot plants inside, but boy was I wrong. This handy mat makes it super easy to sit at a kitchen table or desk, pot up plants or start seedlings, then quickly clean up and get everything put away with no mess. This one comes in multiple colors and sizes to fit any gardener's taste and space (I personally love the tropical leaf print): Foldable Potting Mat for Plants
Garden and Homestead Planner
We all need something to use to keep track of all the tasks in the garden, from seed inventory and when to start plants, so transplant and harvest schedules. This planner from Laura at The Girly Homesteader was designed to track all that and so much more. Billed as a "homestead" planner, Laura has thoughtfully included meal planners, goal trackers, weekly to-do lists, even a "Grow and Flourish" assessment to help you prioritize your goals for the year. And it's completely customizable so you can include whatever sections you need and exclude the ones you don't.
